Overview
GPT-IMG provides access to state-of-the-art AI image generation models from Google, OpenAI, ByteDance, xAI, Black Forest Labs, Alibaba, and Krea. Each model offers different strengths in terms of quality, speed, and cost.

Nano Banana 2
- Provider: Google (Gemini 3.1 Flash Image Preview)
- Strengths: Fast generation with reasoning-guided output, good balance of speed and quality
- Resolutions: 1K, 2K, 4K
- Aspect Ratios: 1:1, 2:3, 3:2, 3:4, 4:3, 9:16, 16:9
- Quality: Not configurable (single quality level)
- Speed: ~60-70 seconds (measured)
- Cost: 25-50 credits per image, based on resolution
Nano Banana Pro
- Provider: Google (Gemini 3 Pro Image Preview)
- Strengths: Highest quality Google model, excellent for detailed and artistic images
- Resolutions: 1K, 2K, 4K
- Aspect Ratios: 1:1, 2:3, 3:2, 3:4, 4:3, 9:16, 16:9
- Quality: Not configurable (single quality level)
- Speed: ~95-180 seconds (measured) — the slowest model here
- Cost: 45-90 credits per image, based on resolution
GPT Image 2
- Provider: OpenAI (GPT-Image-2)
- Strengths: Most capable OpenAI model, supports quality tiers (Standard/Medium/High) with excellent text rendering
- Resolutions: 1K, 2K, 4K
- Aspect Ratios: 1:1, 2:3, 3:2, 3:4, 4:3, 9:16, 16:9
- Quality: Standard, Medium, High (only model that supports quality selection)
- Speed: ~65 seconds (measured)

Seedream 5.0 Pro
- Provider: ByteDance
- Strengths: The strongest model here for legible text inside images — menus, packaging, posters, and dense layouts
- Resolutions: 1K, 2K (no 4K)
- Aspect Ratios: 1:1, 2:3, 3:2, 3:4, 4:3, 9:16, 16:9
- Quality: Not configurable (resolution tier maps to the model's basic/high setting)

Note: Only GPT Image 2 supports the quality parameter. The default text-to-image setting is 1K Standard (10 credits). GPT Image 2 reference-image generation is limited to one reference image and uses the edit pricing table above.

How to Choose
- Cheapest: Z-Image Turbo at 5 credits. Use it to find a prompt that works, then re-run the winner on a premium model.
- Fastest: Krea 2 Turbo (~5 seconds) and Z-Image Turbo (~16 seconds). Both are single-resolution and text-to-image only.
- Text inside the image: Seedream 5.0 Pro for dense layouts, menus, and packaging; GPT Image 2 for shorter text with photorealistic surroundings.
- Photorealism: FLUX 2 Pro for materials and lighting at 15-25 credits, or GPT Image 2 at Medium/High quality when you need 4K.
- Editing an existing image: Qwen Image Edit (15 credits, reference image required) preserves the untouched parts of the source. Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro also accept reference images and can change more of the frame.
- Many reference images: FLUX 2 Pro accepts up to 8 at no extra cost — every other model here takes at most 1.
- Stylized and poster work: Grok Imagine (10 credits standard) and Krea 2 Turbo (10 credits).
- Maximum detail: Nano Banana Pro at 4K (90 credits) or GPT Image 2 at 4K High (120 credits text-to-image, 130 with a reference image). Nano Banana Pro is the slowest model here — expect one to three minutes.
